Joseph L. Sulman concentrates his practice on serving clients in need of employment-related legal counseling. He also provides sophisticated litigation services in civil rights, personal injury, and general litigation. The foundation for his practice is proven success in employment disputes combined with depth of experience.
Mr. Sulman represents both workers and employers in need of legal counseling. He pursues and defends claims of employment discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, whistle-blower actions, and independent contractor misclassification; he also provides counseling to employers on personnel-related policies and practices. His past employment cases include federal class-actions and individual complaints before state administrative agencies. He also specializes in representing public safety employees in appeals before the Civil Service Commission.
Additionally, Mr. Sulman represents clients in civil rights, personal injury, and general litigation. With his diverse legal background, he brings experience in issues concerning consumer protection, motor vehicle accidents, business disputes, mortgage fraud, First Amendment law, and actions against the government. He regularly advocates for his clients in court and before administrative agencies. Several cases have proceeded to trial.
Mr. Sulman attended Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated cum laude, and he was formerly associated with Dechert LLP and Lichten & Liss-Riordan, P.C. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sulman was a journalist for the MetroWest Daily News in Framingham, Massachusetts, where he covered the police beat and politics.
